I’ve been resisting that fall is near. When I see these at the grocery store that means that halloween and fall are right around the corner. The seasons seems to come and go a lot quicker than they used to.
I have all the touristy pictures from Paris that everyone captures while they are there from previous trips. This time while I was in Paris I wanted to capture something unique but still recognize it was in Paris. My wife and I had just climbed the stairs to the top of the Eiffel tower and was walking to a night bike tour we signed up for. I saw this pregnant woman sitting on the bench by herself enjoying a good book with the Eiffel tower as a backdrop, It was exactly what I wanted.
I now have this framed in my office and still enjoy looking at it every day. My only regret was that I didn’t offer to send her a copy. I’m sure she would have loved to remember this moment. Her child is probably close to a year and a half by now.
I’ve started a new project called “From the Window”. Living in the American west we spend a lot of time in our vehicles rather than walking or biking like most large cities or in European countries. With my kids getting older I’m now able to let them drive so I can enjoy the scenery and document what I see.
This image was taken a few days ago while driving through Wyoming for our spring break.
New Orleans is a great place to visit, the food, atmosphere & people are great. I watched these men through a window make cigars for quite a while. It’s definitely something that takes skill to get it right. I’m not a smoker but if I were I probably would have supported these guys and given one a try.
I began my photography journey while working in San Francisco about ten years ago. I enjoy going back to revisit familiar places and find new adventures.
I like how the man in the back is looking over my right shoulder. If he were looking towards the front like the rest of the people this image wouldn’t be interesting to me.
Leica released the new M10 today. Two things I really like about this compared to my M240 is the larger viewfinder and the dedicated ISO wheel on the top. I don’t anticipate I will be switching to this body, my M240 body is 5 months old and will last me for a long time. It’s nice that Leia builds their products so well I don’t have the desire to need the latest release.
Well done Leica on the improvements. (image courtesy of Leica)
Taken on a recent trip to New York. I really like how the yellow and red colors pop in this image.
